Search for Vinted fees and you are given a percentage. For a private seller in the UK that percentage is zero. The money those pages are describing is charged to the buyer, on top of the price you set.
The buyer's side is where it gets interesting, because Vinted does not publish a rate for it. It publishes a range. Most of the calculators that rank for this question print one flat figure from inside that range and return a single buyer total, which nothing on Vinted's own price list supports.

Buyer Protection is charged to the buyer at checkout, on top of the price you set, and it pays for the protection Vinted gives that buyer on the order. It is why the total on an order is higher than the listing that produced it.
The UK list carries no selling commission, for a standard account or a professional one. The only two things a seller can pay Vinted for are optional promotions bought at the moment you use them: a Bump, and a Showcase.
Vinted gives Buyer Protection as a range and nothing narrower. Every buyer-side figure on this page is worked out from it, so none of them is what a particular buyer paid. That number is on the order summary, at checkout, before they pay.
Vinted publishes Buyer Protection as “usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8”, VAT included, so the only honest working of it produces two numbers rather than one. A £10 item is the clearest place to see the spread, and the same arithmetic applies at every other price.
The top is more than two and a half times the bottom, which is why one figure cannot stand in for both. Two things stop even those two numbers being exact: the price list gives the percentage and the fixed part as ranges rather than figures, and it does not spell out what the percentage is charged on. A number to the penny exists in one place, the order summary Vinted shows the buyer before payment.
Vinted's UK price list is a short page. This is all of it, in the order it matters to a seller, plus the one entry that is not on it at all. Two of the eight are the seller's, and both are optional promotions bought one at a time for a listing you chose.

Two of those cells are Vinted's own words, the Buyer Protection range and the shipping sentence. The rest are entries on a price list, described rather than quoted, because there is no sentence there to quote. Bump and Showcase have no published price table at all: both are quoted to you before you pay, so no page can print what yours will cost.
One claim circulates widely enough to deal with directly: that Vinted charges professional sellers a category commission, quoted as 2% to 3% on luxury handbags over £500, 4% on authenticated sneakers and 5% on watches over £1,000, introduced in 2025. The UK price list was read for exactly that and it carries no seller commission of any kind. The claim traces back to a single site and has been copied outward from there. Until Vinted publishes such a schedule, treat it as unverified.
The neighbouring claims, that Buyer Protection is capped, or that it changes by category, are not on the price list either. What the price list does say is that the fee varies, which is a different statement from varying by category: it gives a range and declines to be more precise than that.
The flat 5% plus 70p is not invented and it is not far out. It sits inside Vinted's published range on both parts. The error is grammatical rather than numerical: a midpoint is being printed as a rate, and a single buyer total is being printed where Vinted publishes a bracket.

Nothing, on a private sale. There is no listing fee and no selling commission on Vinted's UK price list, so what an item sells for is what reaches your Vinted balance. The fee people usually mean is Buyer Protection, and it is charged to the buyer on top of your price.
That is one figure from inside the range Vinted publishes, not the rate Vinted charges. The price list gives Buyer Protection as usually 3% to 8% plus 30p to 80p, VAT included, and says the exact amount appears in the order summary. On a £10 item the published range runs from 60p to £1.60, so no single flat figure can be right at both ends of it.

Not according to the price list, which carries no seller commission at any price or in any category. A category commission schedule dated to 2025 does circulate online, and the section above says where it comes from and why this page treats it as unverified.
No selling commission appears on the UK price list for a professional account either. A Pro account does differ from a private one in other ways, including its own guide and its own consumer-law obligations, and Vinted's Pro guide is linked above rather than summarised here.
